CSS3 Selectors for html


Here Selector means you can select some particular fixed area in html and put some color or effects via css (Cascade Style Sheet).

What we need for Selector ->

Selectors are too important for us if we do select some thing how can we put some effect on it.

Examples : If you want to color a paragraph in html you have to select the paragraph tag i.e.  <p>

 

We can select any thing via two Attributes :

1 :  class

2 :  id

Lets see how can we do that via an Example :

If my html is

<html>

<head>

<title>My html</title>

</head>

<body>

<p class="myparagraph">Here is my Test </p>

</body>

</html>

 

Ok now in this html paragraph tag having a class attribute so we can select it by dot operator in css

<style>

.myparagraph {  "Write your css code here"  }

</style>

 

. dot represent we selects a class.

 

<html>

<head>

<title>My html</title>

</head>

<body>

<p id="myid">Here is my Test </p>

</body>

</html>

 

In this html paragraph tag having id attribute we can select id attribute via #

 

<style>

#myid {  "Write your css code here"  }

</style>

Hash # represent we select a id name myid.

OR

You can Directly Selects via paragraph tag too

 

<style>

p {  "Write your css code here"  }

</style>

Here we can selects via p tag i.e. for paragraph but in this case style is applied on all the paragraph tag consist in this html

Now the conclusion is that Selectors give you power to Select some particular fixed area or element in the whole html or your project.

without selector css and javascript or jquery neither worked selector are that attributes you have to specified for make your html dynamic and Good for Read and Write and Expressive Look for Everyone.
